Kakao Group has decided to guarantee developers additional profits by allowing the ads of other games while the user is playing Kakao mobile games. Kakao has also made the decision to cut the platform fee that small-and medium-sized mobile game developers pay to Kakao.

The developer of the country’s largest messenger app held a meeting on Thurday at Nine Tree Convention in downtown Seoul to announce that it will establish a business model and a platform fee system within the first half of the year that will help its mobile game partners enjoy additional profits.

Kakao will roll out "Kakao Game AD+," which will show the ads of other mobile games while the user is playing a mobile game on Kakao. Under the new system, game developers using AD+ are allowed to pay lower levels of Kakao platform fee, which currently stands at 21 percent.
