GS E&C released on Monday that it won an underground highway project worth 635.8 million Singapore dollars, or 524 billion won, tendered out by the Singapore government. Singaporean Land Transport Authority leader Ngien Hoon Ping and GS E&C Infra unit head Lee Sang-ki attended a ceremony for the contract of the project in Singapore on Friday.

The scope of the project includes a partial section (N101) of the underground highway system that connects the city center north to south. The project will build an urban underground highway as long as 990 meters along Beach Road, the southern center part of the city state and a one-kilometer overpass. Embarking on works within this year, the project is expected to be finished in November 2026.

GS E&C lagged behind in terms of price at the bidding, but it was able to win the project thanks to its high scores at technology assessment .
