Samsung Display has pioneered the global market of ultra-high definition video wall with 3840x2160 pixel resolution. Video walls are made of several display panels to enable a super-large screen.

The Korean display producer released on Monday that 65-inch UHD video wall display products have been in production since last month. The number of its pixels is quadruple than that of the previous version of full HD to become 8.3 million pixels, characterized by a larger screen with a clear picture.

The key to video wall technology lies in narrowing the width of the bezel – a part between the panels. Higher definition requires longer inner wiring, making it more difficult to thin the bezel. Nevertheless, Samsung Display has realized not only UHD resolution but also a bezel of 3.7 millimeters.

When panels are connected two by two, a large-scale screen is constituted, 288.6 centimeters by 162.7 centimeters, of similar size as 46-inch panels connected three by three. This means that it only takes four 65-inch panels to realize an equivalent size wall to the one made by nine 45-inch products. Added to this, a thinner bezel enhances immersion while reducing the number of brackets to fix the panels.
