LG Electronics unveiled the LG PuriCare 360 air purifier on Monday. The shape of the filter system has been modified, allowing for a faster and more efficient purification for the same volume of space. The purification capacity of different models have been upgraded from 51.5m², 58m², 81m², and 91m² to 54.5m², 62m², 91m², and 100m², respectively.

The South Korean electronics maker is aiming to expand its market into public facilities such as schools, kindergartens, and hospitals. According to a guideline issued by the education ministry regarding the installation and operation of air purifiers at school, the purification capacity needs to cover 1.5 times the space of a classroom, and LG’s new products with 100m² capacity will be apt to handle classrooms of elementary school that are typically 66m² or 20 pyeong wide in Korea. Industry experts predict that South Korea’s air purification market will continue to grow this year to approximately 2.5 million units. The prices of the LG PuriCare 360 are ranged from 799,000 to 1,319,000 won.
