The Hyundai Avante, one of the most popular compact sedans in South Korea, has come back with a complete transformation. Hyundai Motor revealed Thursday the design and specifications of the face-lifted New Avante.

The Korean automaker said that the New Avante was inspired by a jet plane flying low near the ground level. The front radiator grill has expanded in size, and the overall impression has become more sporty and sharper. The change of the headlamp is particularly dramatic. The sharp, triangular shape lends an intense and agile impression to the vehicle. Some auto communities say that the new headlamps are reminiscent of the eyes of the Voltorb, a monster from the Pokemon, a cartoon popular with children. The back silhouette has evolved, too. The straight line of the rear lamps is harmonized with the front design.

Safety features have been also enhanced. A number of features have been newly introduced such as Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW). SEA is a feature that Hyundai introduced to its latest SUV model Santa Fe TM for the first time in the world. The prices of the New Avante will be unveiled on its launching date of September 6.
