Monday marks President Park Geun-hye's fourth anniversary to win the 2012 presidential election. The mood of the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae, however, is immensely gloomy as the president went into retreat her official residence after the National Assembly passed the impeachment motion on Dec. 9.

Right after her victory was confirmed four years ago, the president spoke to people on Gwanhwamun Square that her dream and hope was to make everyone in the Republic of Korea happy. After four years, however, people gathered in the same place on Saturday to demand the president to resign, eight weeks in a row.

It has been said that the president plans to spend her anniversary with advisors by having a tea time calmly to look back her past four years as the president on Monday. Former advisors and government personnel will not attend the meeting. President Park held a luncheon with ruling Saenuri Party leadership and also shared dinner on her first anniversary of 2013. On her second anniversary, she threw an unofficial dinner party with seven veteran lawmakers of the pro-Park Geun-hye faction including Suh Chung-won and Choi Kyung-hwan.

“The president seems to calmly review the legality to come up with the current situation and there is nothing else we can do but to wait and see,” said an official of the presidential office.
