All eyes were on Sohn Hak-kyu, former standing advisor to the Democratic Party, during the peace concert for the 7th memorial service honoring former President Kim Dae-jung" in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province on Saturday. The opposition's key members at the service approached and greeted Sohn. It was known that Sohn is highly likely to make his comeback to politics after the upcoming Democratic National Convention on Aug. 27.

Former party chief Moon Jae-in met with Sohn as soon as the concert wrapped up. Moon greeted Sohn, saying, "You are always welcome to show up to the media. Please rejoin soon and give a hand to the party." Sohn just smiled silently. Since the 2012 presidential campaigns, it has been four years since the two shook hands and greeted each other in public. The two men had simply exchanged nods.

Park Jie-won, floor leader of the People's Party and chairman of the party's emergency planning committee, also came to Sohn who sat alone from opposition leaders. Park offered a front row seat where his party lawmakers sat, but Sohn did not reply. Then, supporters of Sohn called out the names of Park and Sohn. In a telephone interview on Sunday, Park said, "It won't be this week, but I will meet (Sohn) soon."

Sohn paid his visit Sunday to Haui Island in South Jeolla Province, where the former president was born. "(Former President Kim) was both a pioneer and a visionary, who already foresaw our current times 40 to 50 years ago," Sohn said. "Indeed, this is what I call a vision."
