“It was my fault. I didn’t know the sincerity of my people whom I worked together. I’m sorry.”

On his way to creating a new party,Rep. Ahn Cheol-soo is making apologies and asking for help to his old buddies.

Ahn created "Jinsim Camp" in 2012 and "New Politics Promotion Committee" in 2014. Most of his then allies, however, left him since he declared consolidation with the Democratic Party in March 2014.

“Being in the politics for three years, now I came to understand how difficult it is to gather people who are sincerely dedicated to making better politics,” Ahn told his old friends. “Splitting apart with those people was the biggest mistake I made.” He is planning a get together of his old allies on Thursday just before the take-off event of the new party scheduled on Saturday.

With his "former comrades" getting back to him, Ahn seems to be gaining more confidence. On Tuesday, he said “Yeouido is one of the places that needs to be thoroughly cleaned,” while joining street cleaners sweeping the streets of Yeongdeungpo.

Still, Geum Tae-sup, Kang In-cheol, Cho Kwang-hee, and Song Ho-chang, who played a core role in the Jinsim Camp, are separately going their ways. Cho is known to be personally helping Ahn, but Geum and Song are staying at the Minjoo Party of Korea. Kang said that he wants to focus on his work as a lawyer rather than politics for the mean time.
