U.S. President Donald Trump visited the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to pay tribute to the 11 victims who were killed in the anti-Semitic violence that took place on Tuesday. The event progressed somberly, but there has been controversy over whether President Trump, known for making divisive remarks, is qualified to pay homage to those who were sacrificed to hate crime.

President Trump paid tribute with First Lady Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, senior White House advisers who are Jewish, at the synagogue led by the rabbi. President Trump stayed in the synagogue for 18 minutes and laid a small stone and white rose on the wooden "Star of David" made for each victim. President Trump also visited the University of Pittsburg Hospital to meet the wounded victims.

During his four-hour stay in Pittsburg, President Trump appeared to keep a cautious stance, avoiding media contact and refraining from public comments. USA reported that “The President’s visit was quiet and uneventful.
