South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had a "surprise secrete conversation" on Tuesday before the commencement of the summit. The talk took place inside the vehicle heading towards the Baekhwawon guest house in Pyongyang.

After completing the official welcome ceremony since arriving at Pyongyang Sunan Airport around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, President Moon left the airport with First Lady Kim Jung-sook on a bullet proof Mercedes Benz that was brought from South Korea. Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju also took their own Mercedes Benz.

Moon and the young North Korean leader took an open car for parade that was prepared by the North after sending their greetings toward the welcoming crowds standing on both sides of the road after getting out of the vehicle.

The two leaders, who arrived at the reception hall within the guest house of Baekhwawon on the same car, engaged in pleasant conversations with the wives of the two leaders. “This is nothing compared to a developed country,” said the North Korean leader with a smile on his face. “Although this may not be quite satisfying, we have prepared the accommodation and schedule with sincerity.”

The North Korean leader expressed an honest speech again following his remark at the Panmunjom summit in April 27 when he said “What worries me when President Moon visits North Korea is the inconvenience that may be caused by the uncomfortable transportation.” President Moon Jae-in responded, saying, “I am overwhelmed to see the citizens of Pyongyang greeting me. Citizens of South Korea will also be touched and deeply moved by this.”
