It has been informed that an assessment report by the CIA saying “North Korea does not intend to give up its nuclear weapons any time soon” was recently reported to U.S. President Donald Trump. NBC revealed the existence of such report by citing three officials on Tuesday. “Everybody knows they are not going to denuclearize. President Trump also read the report days before he canceled the originally scheduled summit on the 24th,” said one intelligence official. According to NBC, nevertheless, Trump is continuing to pursue a nuclear summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un even though the CIA analysis, which is consistent with other expert opinion, casts doubt on the possibility of the elimination of North Korea's nuclear weapons.

According to this report, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may consider opening a Western hamburger franchise in Pyongyang as a show of good will. President Trump, during his presidential campaign back in 2016, said that he wanted to talk nukes over a burger with the North Korean leader. The report did not specify which fast-food brand could be invited by North Korea but said Kim envisioned that the establishment could be used to provide food during the talks and would show that he was open to Western investment.”

The report said that North Korea has not demanded that the United States remove all its troops from South Korea in preliminary talks, and this is not expected to happen in the North Korea-U.S. summit. The report added that South Korean President Moon Jae-in believes he enjoys a strong rapport with the North Korean leader, and that South Korea is considering a formal declaration to end the war between the two Koreas.
