According to the U.S. entertainment media Vanity Fair on Tuesday, the 60-year-old three-time Academy award-winning Daniel Day Lewis suddenly decided to retire from the movie industry. Day-Lewis is the only actor who has won three Academy Awards for Best Actor for his works “My Left Foot,” “There Will Be Blood,” and “Lincoln.”

His publicist Leslee Dart announced, “Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.” His last work will be “Phantom Thread” which will be released in December in the U.S.

Local press saw that Day-Lewis will continue his career in the area of film publicity. Day-Lewis is best known for his works including “A Room with a View,” “The Last Mohican,” “The Age of Innocence,” and “In the Name of the Father.”
