War films with curator’s explanations

The War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul will screen Korean and foreign war movies every day free of charge starting Friday to the end of December. The movies will be shown at Cinema Theater located on the third floor of the Memorial every 2 p.m. every day. A Memorial official explained that the theater can accommodate up to 100 people on a first-come-first-served basis without reservations.

In the first half of this year, 10 movies including “Northern Limit Line,” “The Admiral: Roaring Currents,” “71: In to the Fire,” “Assassination,” “The Age of Shadows,” “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” and “The Longest Day” will be screened in turns biweekly. Upcoming films for the latter half of 2017 will be updated on the Memorial website (www.warmemo.or.kr). Curators will explain how each war unfolded before the movie begins, and an exhibition will be open for the public to see relevant records and materials.
