Retired naval vessels will float on Han River as security and peace marine exhibitions. According to the announcement made by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, four warships out of commission will be leased for free by the courtesy of the ROK Navy Headquarters to create a “marine park” exclusively designed for experiencing and exhibiting. Four vessels include 1,900-ton FFK-052, two 150-ton high speed boats, and one 178-ton submarine.

The new marine park will showcase its exhibition and experience hall “Marine Exhibition,” and a ground park where visitors can tour submarines and walk around the lawn plaza at the riverside. Insides of the vessels will be designed to provide visitors with a glimpse of the marine life of naval crews. A 9,889 square meter ground park will be created. The submarine will also be decorated for visitors to get a hands-on experience. The vessels will be undertaken by the Seoul Metropolitan Government around March next year for remodeling the dockyard. After being towed and installed at Han River between May and June, the park will open doors to visitors in October.
