Actress So Yoo-jin performs in a play

Actress So Yoo-jin, 35, will perform in a play in four years. She will be part of the “Secret of Flowers” scripted and directed by film director Jang Jin. It is a comedy that makes audiences laugh non-stop. The story is about four women in a village of Villa Perosa in northwestern Italy disguising themselves as their husband to get insurance money. So will play Monica, one of the four women known for her beauty.

It has been only a month since the end of “Five Enough,” a television drama. “I’m a big fan of Jang Jin and I decided to get the role right away after getting an offer,” she said. The working mom was able to continue her career because she had strong family support. On the first day of her performance last Tuesday, her husband Baek Jong-won, a famous chef, was among the audiences.

When this reporter told So on Friday at the theater, “I saw your husband look at you with so much love,” she said, “It’s because he saw me on the stage for the first time on that day.”

She added, “When I played in the musical ‘Finding Mr. Destiny’ in 2012, I started dating my husband. We used the honorific Korean at first. I invited him several times to show me on the stage, he refused to take the invitation saying that he would be shy if he sees me on the stage.”

What was her husband’s impression after watching his wife’s performance on the stage? “He said Jang Jin’s script is so much fun, instead of talking about my performance,” she said.

Like her husband’s famous recipes, So’s recipes are also popular among her fans. She communicates with her fans by sharing various cooking recipes on social media. She even published a baby food book after giving birth to her first child.
