Liverpool named the ultimate selling club in transfers

It has turned out that England Premier League Liverpool F.C. has made the largest amount of money from transferring its players over the recent seven years.

The Daily Mail, a British daily news, reported on Thursday that Liverpool is the ultimate selling club among European football market, recouping some 384 million British pounds (approx. 557.3 billion Korean won) in players transfer sales since 2010. In 2011, the club agreed to buy Luis Suárez from Ajax in the Netherlands at some 33.3 billion won. Three years later, it demonstrated its “exceptional marketing ability” by transferring him to Spanish club FC Barcelona at some 106.9 billion won. Liverpool has also made a massive amount of money in its sales with EPL Chelsea for Fernando Torres (at some 71.3 billion won) and Manchester City for Raheem Sterling (at some 69.8 billion won).

Valencia CF in the La Liga came to the 2nd place, pocketing some 360 million pounds (approx. 513.1 billion won) by selling its main player Nicolás Otamendi (at some 45.7 billion won) and attacking midfielder David Silva (at some 34.8 billion won) to Manchester City. Having transferred Paul Pogba to Manchester City at the largest fee in the past summer at some 131.5 billion won, Juventus in Italian Serie A made the third largest profit in player transfer at some 352 million pounds (approx. 501.7 billion won). S.L. Benfica, which is well known as a wealthy magnate by harnessing the skill of its players and selling them to big league clubs such as European Premier and FC Porto, followed, profiting some 500.2 billion won and 461.8 billion won, respectively.

On the other hand, Manchester City has spent the largest money of some 1.302 trillion won in bringing players in, followed by Chelsea and Manchester United with 1.107 trillion won and 1.069 trillion won, respectively.
