World renowned pianists dubbed "textbooks of modern piano music" are coming to Korea.

Hungarian pianist Andras Schiff will hold a recital at the Seoul Arts Center on Oct.23, and the following day American pianist Murray Perahia is doing his own performance at the same place. On Nov. 24, French pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard will be on stage at the LG Arts Center in Seoul.

At his fourth Seoul visit since 2008, Schiff, the recipient of the Royal Academy of Music Bach Prize in 2007, will perform Bach music this time. In 2000, The New York Times praised Schiff saying his performance of Bach is the most reliable Bach performance in the world. Schiff also said Bach was his most important composer, and that he has lived all his life with Bach music while he starts every morning with Bach. At the upcoming recital, he will perform Italian Concerto, French Overture and Goldberg Variations.

Perahia is visiting Korea following his collaborative performance with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields in 2014. For his first solo recital in five years, the American pianist practices so hard to become a decent pianist. Perahia says that Vladimir Horowitz and Artur Rubinstein lived a cool elderly life because they had a sincere attitude. In Seoul, he will perform Beethoven's Sonata No. 29 Hammerklavier. It will be worth listening to his interpretation that has high tempo, sophisticated techniques, which will last nearly 45 minutes. He will also perform Haydn's Variations in F minor, Mozart: Sonata No. 8 and Brahms' Ballade No. 3.

Aimard, who is visiting Korea since his first in 2012, emerged with modern music in early age. He won Le Concours Olivier-Messiaen at age 16, and became a founding member of Ensemble Intercontemporain, a contemporary music ensemble founded by maestro Pierre Boulez, 1976. Aimard also recorded Beethoven's piano concerto with world prominent conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt, and was ranked No. 1 in 2008 in classic billboard with Bach's Art of Fugue. At the upcoming recital, he will perform modern music including those of Gyorgy Kurtag and Olivier Messiaen.
