LG Electronics to unveil high-efficiency appliances in Europe

LG Electronics plans to unveil its new Centum System refrigerators and dryers at the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2016 in Berlin on Friday. The Centum System is LG’s brand for home appliances with higher energy efficiencies and lower noise levels.

The Centum System washing machines reduces energy consumption to 60 percent below the threshold required for A+++ certification, the highest energy efficiency rating in Europe. The new washing machine also cuts down noise to just 67 decibels, lower than any other front-loader washing machines in the European market. The Centum System refrigerators also consume 10 to 20 percent less power than other models. LG plans to gradually launch the Centum System products in major European countries by the end of this year. The company offers a 20-year warranty on the washing machine's Inverter Direct Drive motor and the refrigerator's Inverter Linear compressor.

“We aim to lead the European premium market with Centum System appliances, which focus on the basics of appliances such as high efficiency and durability,” said Cho Sung-jin, president of LG Electronics' home appliance division.
