Kang Jung-ho (29) of the Pittsburgh Orioles is returning to the Major League. He comes back eight months after he had surgery due to broken left knee bone that he suffered during a game in September last year.

MLB.COM, the Major League’s official website, said on Friday that Kang will participate in three consecutive away games against the St. Louis Cardinals scheduled on Saturday through Monday. In the wake of Kang’s return, Pittsburgh has returned outfielder Jason Rogers to the Minor League.

With Kang’s return, the possibility for Kang to face off Oh Seung-hwan of St. Louis has increased. None of Korean players in the Big League have had showdown in this regular season.

Chances are high that the two Koreans in the Major League will have multiple showdowns since both Pittsburgh and St. Louis belong to the same Central Division of the National League. The two teams will have 16 times in total including the upcoming three consecutive events in this season. Kang had four hits (one homer), and three runs from 13 times at bat with Oh in the Korean league.
