Shilla I’Park Duty Free Shop has confirmed housing of French luxury brand Louis Vuitton. Shilla I’Park located in Seoul’s Yongsan district has become the first among the four new duty free shops in Seoul that has attracted at least one the world’s top three luxury brands, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Hermes

As a result, Shilla I’Park has decided to open more than 20 brand shops under LVMH Group brands by March 25, 2017, which will mark its first anniversary. The brands to open shops there include Louis Vuitton, Dior, Fendi, and Bulgari. Construction work for the stores will start in this year’s second half, before the shops open in phases.

Shilla I’Park’s attraction of Louis Vuitton was due in large part to efforts made by Hotel Shilla President Lee Boo-jin. After she met with LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault in Paris, France in September last year, working-level talks for Shilla I’Park to house those brands picked up speed. Lee also gave a guided tour to every corner of Shilla I’Park Duty Free Shop to Arnault when he was visiting Seoul to attend this year's "Conde Nast International Luxury Conference" in late April. During his visit, Arnault reportedly spoke highly of growth potential of the Korean duty free market.
