Singer In Suni accused of tax evasion

Korean singer In Suni, 57, is facing charges of having evaded taxes worth 6.6 billion won (5.5 billion U.S. dollars). The wife of singer Choi Sung-soo filed criminal charges against her, alleging that In had evaded the taxes by receiving her income in cash or through borrowed bank accounts without filing due tax reports between June 2005 and November 2007.

Choi's wife had been convicted for fraud for failing to repay 2.3 billion won (1.9 million dollars) she borrowed from In Suni for investment in luxury villas in an affluent neighborhood in southern Seoul between 2006 and 2007.
