The first match between the world's highest ranked player of the game of baduk (go) and a computer will take place on March 9.

Google said Friday that its subsidiary DeepMind's artificial intelligence (AI) software AlphaGo and Lee Sedol, the highest ranked Go player in the world, will have five games on March 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15. The games will broadcast live on YouTube.

The winner of the best-of-five games will receive prize money of one million U.S. dollars. Even though a victor is determined early, they will play all of the five games. Last October, AlphaGo successfully beat the European Go champion Fan Hui 5–0 in a series of games.
