Samsung Electronics has announced that it will roll out its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S10, in San Francisco next month.

The world’s No. 1 smartphone maker said Friday that it invited journalists and partners around the world to an Unpacked event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Feb. 20 to showcase the new Galaxy S10 series.

Samsung has usually released its new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWG) in Barcelona, Spain, in late February. London and New York have also been chosen as the location for Unpacked events, but this is the first time that the tech giant hosts the gathering in San Francisco, close to the headquarters of its rival, Apple, located in Cupertino. The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is an arena at which Apple has often showcased its new products such as iPhone 7. Watchers say that Samsung’s choice of the venue points to the company’s confidence in the Galaxy S10.

This year is also a landmark year for the South Korean smartphone maker as it marks the 10th anniversary of Galaxy phones. Back in 2007 when Apple first released its iPhone, there were concerns about Samsung diving into the smartphone business. The company, however, launched its first Galaxy S model in 2010 and has topped the list of the world’s smartphone makers in global sales since the third quarter of 2011 with the series succeeding in the global market.

The Galaxy S10 is expected to come in three types: a base model with a 6.1-inch screen, a plus model with a 6.44-inch screen and a low-tier model with a 5.8-inch screen. Some speculate that a fifth-generation (5G) network-powered model may come out after March. “Samsung Electronics plans to unveil its 10th anniversary flagship phone lineup and show a fully functional foldable-screen handset at Feb. 20 events,” the Wall Street Journal reported.
