Figure skater Lim Eun-soo has won her first senior Grand Prix medal after Kim Yu-na. Lim won bronze at the Rostelecom Cup in Moscow with 185.67 points. The 15-year-old was in the third place after 2018 PyongChang Olympic gold medalist Alina Zagitova (Russia, 222.95 points) and Sophia Samodurova (Russia, 198.01 points). Lim has become the first Korean skater to win a medal since Kim Yu-na won gold in 2009.

Lim's performance shined during free skating event. After ranking sixth in Friday’s short program at 57.76 points, she renewed her personal record with 127.91 points a week after setting her personal record (126.53 points) in the fourth match, NHK Trophy. Performing her free skate to the “Chicago” soundtrack, Lim stably landed on her triple lutz-triple toe loop combination (basic point 10.10), adding additional 1.52 points.

A member to All That Sports, the same company as Kim Yu-na, Lim garnered attention by winning in her senior debut at ISU Challenger Series Asian Trophy in August. At the fourth Grand Prix match where she came in sixth, she renewed her best record both in short and single.

“Yu-na kids” other than Lim are also gaining attention. Cha Joon-hwan won bronze in two consecutive Grand Prix matches. During the competition, You Yong (14) was the first Korean skater to earn more than 200 points and Kim Ye-lim (15) was qualified for Junior Grand Prix finals.
