The Asahi Shimbun announced on Tuesday that U.S. government officials anticipate a second U.S.-North Korea summit to be held in Europe mid-November. Stockholm and Geneva are mentioned as the venue of the summit.

The Japanese newspaper, however, added that as the place of the summit is also one of the "negotiation cards." It is likely to be dealt with issues such as the method of inspecting nuclear weapons in North Korea at the working-level talks between the two countries that is expected to be held in Austria Vienna in the near future.

With respect to the date of the second summit, U.S. President Donald Trump said on last Tuesday that the summit will be held after the midterm election (November 6) while U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton said on Friday that the summit will be held within two months or so.

Sweden, which is a candidate for the summit, has an embassy in Pyongyang, delivering the U.S.' position to North Korea. On the other hand, there is a North Korean Embassy in Switzerland and it is the country where North Korean leader Kim Jong Un studied. The Asahi Shimbun said that as much as President Trump is planning to visit France on November 11, he may head towards the place of summit immediately after his visit to France.
