Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) in Uzbekistan held its first commencement ceremony on Tuesday. Ninety students of the departments of computer and information engineering and information and communication engineering graduated the IUT at a ceremony held Tuesday (local time), said Inha University on Sunday.

IUT has been growing into one of the leading universities in Central Asia since its establishment in 2014. According to the school, around 90 percent of its graduates have landed a job at IT companies or government agencies.

“Three years at IUT and a year at Inha University in Korea were an unforgettable time for me,” said Bunyodbek Ibrokhimov (23, information and communication engineering), who graduated summa cum laude from IUT. "I hope to keep on studying by getting into a graduate school at Inha University."

IUT was founded in October 2014 by the government of Uzbekistan, in an effort to benchmark South Korea’s advanced system of nurturing world-class talents in the field of ICT. Being the first educational institution ever exported overseas, IUT was built and funded by the Uzbek government and Inha University is in charge of consultation and academic management.
