BTS, a South Korean idol group, is nominated for the Billboard Music Awards for the second straight year. Billboard has included BTS to its music awards candidates for “Top Social Artists” sector. BTS was the winner of the same award last year. This year, the South Korean idol group will be competing with Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes.

The Billboard Music Awards designate candidates by analyzing album and digital sales volume, streaming, number of radio broadcasting, performance and participation in social network systems (SNS) for the past one year. The award ceremony will be held in MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on May 20.

BTS also topped the “World’s 100 Most Influential People,” an online survey conducted by Time magazine, from March 28 to April 17, by winning some 15 percent support rate. Second place went to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who obtained five percent while former U.S. President Barack Obama won 3 percent of support. BTS is expected to release its third official album on May 18.
