Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. has won a part of a major reclamation project in Singapore. The 1.2 trillion won (1.1 billion U.S. dollars) port development project Tuas Terminal is to reclaim nearly 3.9 million square meters of land, which is equivalent to about 7 percent of the total area of the city state.

Hyundai will be responsible for 35 percent of the project, or 410 billion won (378 million dollars), while the rest will be carried out by Netherland-based Royal Boskalis Westminster. The project is due completion in March 2027.

“This results come from the recognition of Hyundai Engineering & Construction’s outstanding performances and technological prowess in Singapore,” a company official said. The Korean company is carrying out 10 projects worth a total of 2.8 trillion won (2.6 billion dollars).
