Samsung Electronics has announced that it will unveil innovative new projects developed from its C-Lab (Creative Lab) program at CES 2018, which is to be held next Tuesday in Las Vegas.

Visitors can take a peek at the innovative projects at the booths in Sands, Hall G, Eureka Park Marketplace, during the period of CES 2018, the company said Tuesday. “S-Ray (Sound-Ray),” “GoBreath” and “Relumino” are just a few of the ambitious products of Samsung C-Lab to be introduced at the exhibition.

“S-Ray” is a portable directional speaker, which is small and light enough for users to carry around while allowing them to keep their ears open to surrounding sounds. S-Ray helps people avoid having to put on earphones for a long time, which can cause ear pain, and avoids the noise and distractions to others conventional speakers can cause. S-Ray also comes in various consumer-friendly forms, such as Neckband, Handy and smartphone cover.

“GoBreath” is a recovery solution for people who may suffer from postoperative pulmonary complications after general anesthesia. Patients who have undergone surgery commonly need to exercise deep breathing for faster recovery, but breathing becomes challenging for them due to lung pain. GoBreath, which consists of a portable device and mobile app, provides exercise guidelines and instructions to patients to help them recover faster. Patients can check the recovery progress and doctors can also monitor their patients’ status.

“Relumino” glasses are smart visual aid eyeglasses to help people with vision challenges see images clearer. Building on the success of the Relumino app for Gear VR, which was earlier introduced, Relumino glasses working in conjunction with a smartphone will be showcased for the first time at the upcoming CES.

In addition to these projects, seven start-ups, which have been spun off from C-Lab, will also join the exhibition, including LINKFLOW, which has developed a neckband-form wearable 360 camera; Kitten Planet, the developer of an ultrasound toothbrush for kids using an augmented reality (AR) guide; lululab, which has developed the artificial intelligence (AI) skincare assistant that analyzes face images and suggests customized solutions; and KIDSOFT, the developer of a smart watch for kids to help them improve their cognitive ability.
