World No. 2 Park Sung-hyun, who has secured the rookie of the year prize at the U.S. LPGA Tour this season, will participate in a Korean tournament in 10 months.

The 24-year-old has won two titles including the U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship, a major event in the LPGA Tour. On Friday, she will take part in the OK Savings Bank Pak Se-ri Invitational of the Korean LPGA (KLPGA) Tour at Lakewood Country Club (par 72) in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province. The event offers purse money of 140 million won (123,800 U.S. dollars) to the winner. Park has been concentrating on the LPGA Tour since November last year when she played in the Phantom Classic (tied for 12th) in the Korean tour.

Park has had a successful season in the LPGA Tour with 1,333 points in score for the rookie of the year prize, displaying a huge gap against Angel Yin (599 points). She is also ranked first in purse money rankings by posting 1.91 million dollars overall.

With participation by Park who attracted a flurry of gallery as No. 1 player and the player with the most titles (seven) in Korea last year, the upcoming event will likely be all the more feverish.
