Team USA smiles again at Solheim Cup

Team USA smiled again at the Solheim Cup competition against Team Europe.

U.S. Solheim Cup, led by captain Juli Inkster, posted five wins, five losses and two ties against the European team at the single match play on Sunday, the last day of the competition, held at Des Moines, Iowa, for six points. With a total of 16.5 points, the U.S. team beat its competitor with 10.5 points and grabbed its second straight year of victory.

 

The U.S. didn't allow a catch up this day as it grabbed five wins. Korean-American Dannielle Kang, the winner of the 2017 KPMG Women's PGA Championships, defeated Emily Pedersen with a gap of three holes. The U.S. recorded 10.5 points at the four sum, four ball match play to overwhelmingly win Europe that had 5.5 points. Thanks to the victory, the U.S. stayed ahead with a total of 10 wins and five losses. Since foundation in 1990, the Solheim Cup has been hold bi-annually (on odd years since 2003), and will be held for three days among 12 players each from the U.S. and Europe.
