Samsung Electronics sent out invitations to the global press and partners on Friday to attend its unpacked event for unveiling the Galaxy Note 8 at 11 a.m. on Aug. 23, in New York.

Samsung has been using its event invitations as a preview to surprise the world. In the invitations, a bezel-less phone with no edges in both sides is illustrated with a blue "S pen.’" Also, "Do bigger things" message is written in the smart phone screen. It is interpreted that Samsung emphasizes that its Galaxy Note is the originator of the large screen tablet products. Industry experts expect that its screen size will be about 6.3 to 6.4 inches.

The event will be held at New York’s Park Avenue Armory, a multiplex exhibition and auditorium. This is the first time that Samsung hosts its unpacked event in Park Avenue Armory. It is expected that about 2,000 people will attend the event, which is similar to the Galaxy S8 unpacked event that was held at New York’s Lincoln Center in March. Experts said that Samsung selected New York again to wipe off all traces of disgrace of the Galaxy Note 7, which was released in New York a year ago with much expectations but of which production was permanently stopped due to battery explosions and catching fire.
